The Greater Manchester Retrofit Consortium

Who is the consortium? 

We are a group of Manchester-based SMEs and social enterprises with extensive experience in Greater Manchester of both retrofit and construction, advocating for, and furthering the retrofit of homes in the North West.

Between us, we have many decades of experience of working to make homes warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer and integrating energy efficiency measures that help the community lower their energy bills, lower their home’s impact on the environment and restore livability to the older, colder buildings many of us live in within Manchester.

Our purpose

The consortium aims to provide reliable, high-quality, and independent support to help make homes in Greater Manchester more energy-efficient and comfortable. By focusing on what householders need, we ensure our recommendations are practical, safe, and designed to create healthy homes with improved energy performance. Our approach is holistic, aiming to provide genuine, long-term value for people and homes.

We work in collaboration and partnership with other organisations including businesses, community organisations and local government. Our ambition is to grow the sector in Greater Manchester, creating more jobs and employment and training opportunities for local people and benefitting local communities.
