A bit about us:

People Powered Retrofit (PPR) (http://retrofit.coop) is a unique, community-focussed service to assist Greater Manchester’s homeowners in retrofitting and refurbishing their homes to high environmental standards. We offer an end-to-end service incorporating advice, assessment, design development, specialist investigation and retrofit co-ordination to assist with procurement quality assurance and evaluation.

We’re a community benefit society committed to reducing carbon emissions, and we know how impactful retrofit works will be to communities across the UK. We're maximising our impact by helping like-minded organisations to develop and grow their own community-driven retrofit services across the country

To support us in the development of this part of our organisation, we’re recruiting a Partnerships Manager who will:

  • Manage our growing PPR network, liaising with organisational partners and clients.

  • Consolidate, grow and build the network, and in doing so expand the capacity for community-driven retrofit to help deliver the UK’s Net Zero ambitions.

  • Develop PPR’s social franchise opportunities and network, contributing to the financial, social and environmental success of the organisation.

We have a flexible approach to working location, with some of our team working from in our office in Ancoats, Manchester, some working from home, and some doing a bit of both. If you're not local to our office, we still encourage you to apply! There may be some expectation to travel, but we will try to reduce this need wherever possible.

By joining our team, you’ll be working with a ‘people powered’, member-led organisation subscribing to co-operative principles, driven by the challenge of tackling climate change and contributing to national and international carbon reduction targets.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identify potential replication partners, negotiate a mutually agreeable offer, and draw up contracts and/or memorandum of understanding, project plans and/or any other relevant documentation.

  • Onboard partners, manage a growing portfolio and act as the first point of contact.

  • Build, define and maintain strong reciprocal relationships with replication partners, regularly liaising with client project and/or technical leads .

  • Organise and facilitate project management meetings, and monitor progress to ensure prompt delivery of projects within agreed budgets and timescales.

  • Support the development and delivery of quality assurance processes with our partners.

  • Support our business development director in identifying further replication opportunities.

  • Supporting and contributing to the development of the replication strategy, including through market research.

About you

  • You’ve done aspects of this before. You might have experience in account management, as a consultant or in another non-profit or social enterprise. You know what exceptional service is, and you’re comfortable supporting us as we learn.

  • You build and maintain relationships quickly. We work closely with organisations that share our values, and you’ll foster those relationships, share knowledge and best practice across different organisations and keep everyone working together for the long term.

  • You’re value-driven not sales-driven. We are constantly looking for ways to maximise the value of everything we do for our partners, our clients and for the communities we work in. You’ll be a ‘yes and’ kind of person, looking for new ways to support our partners.

  • You figure out what’s needed. You’ll find it easy to shift through lots of information to find the crux of it, figure out what to do, and have the confidence to make it happen.

  • You are a collaborator. We really understand the power of collective action and work closely with stakeholders internally and externally to share experience and knowledge. You’ll be a keen supporter of this way of working too.

  • You enjoy working on smaller teams and are happy managing your own workload. Your flexibility and proactive nature mean that you’re comfortable and motivated to make decisions yourself, knowing how to draw in other areas of expertise to get things done.

  • You’ve got an eye for improvement. You’re forever trying to find better, more efficient or more valuable ways of doing things.

  • You’re interested in community-driven approaches to climate change adaptation, or you’re fascinated by retrofit. You’ll be incredibly passionate about what we do, and motivated to make a difference.
