Homes for a Low Carbon Future

More and more people are retrofitting their homes to reduce energy bills, cut carbon emissions, improve their health and transform cold, neglected rooms into cosy, well-used spaces.

But retrofit isn’t always straightforward and queries and concerns are common. What are the right measures for my home? What degree of improvement will I see? Where can I find reliable contractors with the right skills? How can we build capacity to do more?

People Powered Retrofit is here to help. As a not-for-profit community benefit society we are independent and cooperative. From our base in Manchester, we collaborate with householders, contractors, community energy organisations and others to support the delivery of more and better domestic retrofit projects.

We offer a service for householders to help you plan, procure and deliver your home retrofit. Our experienced and knowledgeable team provides clear, independent advice so you can make decisions about your home with confidence.

We also work with those delivering retrofit to develop capacity and know-how. If you’re a contractor or consultant interested in working with us to deliver retrofit projects in the North West you can find out more about joining our network here. We also deliver training and related support both locally and in collaboration with community energy and educational organisations across the county.

We are keen to support like-minded organisations to deliver more and better retrofits in their area. We offer peer learning, consultancy, and sharing of our tools and processes through partnership working.
